Western Sicily
This is the ideal itinerary for who love the sea. On the cost ancient cultures arrived on the island leaving them memories in a lot of archeological sites, in little ports around the coast, and ancient cities full of monuments.
Be careful on the road, the asphalt is not very good, first of all near the sea where the salt and sand could make the ground slippery. Luckily there are a lot of very fun roads, where you can enjoy your drive and your view.

The road surface is slippery for most of the route. Look out for pot holes and subsidence especially on the local roads!
Cuisine: Bread and panelle, iced water-melon dessert, cannoli and Sicilian cassata. Cassatelle with ricotta in Castellammare, almond sweets in Erice, trigliole dello Stagnone from Marsala, Marsala wine, ricotta and other cheeses in Marcatobianco (part of Castronuovo di Sicilia).
